Professional Coaching

MPG employs a cadre of professional coaches, credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Credentialing is based on coach education hours, paid client coaching hours, and a standardized test. The ICF credentials we talk about most are:
Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and Master Certified Coach (MCC).

Our professional coaches may also define themselves as leadership coaches, or executive coaches, or by one of their additional coaching/coaching-related credentials.

Beyond ICF credentials, many of our coaches specialize in particular client challenges, or hold certifications in specific coaching approaches. Let us build the ideal team of coaches to support your organization’s coaching strategy. Contact MPG today.

Understanding Leadership Coaching & Executive Coaching

Let’s talk more about MPG coaching. Leadership and executive coaching pairs a credentialed coach with an individual, group, or team, to help them unlock their full potential.

As the coachee, or client, you are in the driver’s seat. But navigating challenges or the unknown is different with a coach in the passenger’s seat. A coach can help you navigate challenges, see new possibilities, discover alternative routes, and maintain focus and momentum.

The International Coaching Federation states “At the core, coaching is about exploration. It’s a process that stirs up creativity, fuels personal growth, and maximizes both professional and personal potential. Through powerful questioning and insightful dialogue, coaches support you in discovering your own solutions, whether for life decisions, career shifts, or business challenges. Coaching goes beyond surface-level improvements; it cultivates deep, lasting change.”

Why Leaders Need This

Every day, our clients navigate game-time decision making, fighting fires on multiple fronts, and balancing between countless competing priorities. If the space between a question and answer is too small, people are likely running on assumptions, fueling bias, and repeating status quo. When leaders are ready to break free from these patterns, coaching can help clients expand their thinking, try new approaches, and uncover unmet wants or needs.

Coaching can be helpful as clients approach interpersonal relationships, explore career and leadership transitions, and embrace organizational (or personal) change. It builds leadership skills including communication and unveils new levels of self-awareness.

Which Coach Is for Me?

So, you are ready to pursue coaching. Now you want to find the right coach. There are a few ways to look at this.

First, MPG only works with ICF-credentialed coaches that focus on clients in professional workplaces. We have people with experience in start-ups, large corporate settings, non-profit organizations, and government. While their unique experiences and past roles may play a role in with whom you find connection, any of our coaches are qualified to work with you.

Next, consider your coaching topics and priorities. If you are laser-focused on working with a coach to address a particular challenge, let that be known! MPG has coaches with niche subject matter expertise in a variety of topics, and generalists that can support the broader themes.

Because a coach is not a consultant or business advisor, their credentials will likely be different than yours. They might will not hold deep subject matter expertise in your particular field, and that’s okay! For example, a coach could brilliantly partner with an attorney, a medical professional, an engineer, and a marketing exec, without having advanced degrees in law, medicine, et cetera. The coach is focused on helping the client navigate challenges inside themselves – doubt, fear of failure, motivational dysregulation, or limited self-awareness to name a few.

Next, the client will need to decide how they want to engage with a coach. Here are three ways MPG partners with clients:

One-on-One Coaching

Dedicated time between you (the client) and a coach of your choosing. Typical engagements are a commitment of six sessions over three months (biweekly) for 50 minutes. This is ideal for anyone navigating company confidential challenges that cannot be shared in a group setting, and offers more flexibility in scheduling.

MPG recommended coaches are certified in particular assessments in addition to ICF credentials.

Group
Coaching

An opportunity to meet people navigating similar (or very different) challenges, and grow together. While the topics you work on are uniquely your own, you get exposure to other perspectives and questions you haven’t asked yourself. You also get a front row seat to the lightbulb moments of your group coaching peers!

MPG recommended coaches hold Group Coaching certification from Group Coaching HQ in addition to ICF credentials.

Team
Coaching

Brings similar elements from both individual and group coaching, and is used when an intact team is interested in breaking through mental barriers together. Team coaching leverages the same assessment suite used in individual and group coaching, and includes an additional report on working together successfully.

MPG recommended coaches are certified in particular assessments in addition to ICF credentials.

All coaching contracted through MPG leverages ICF-credentialed coaches. The International Coaching Federation is the gold standard of coaching ethics and values, and MPG proudly employs and partners with ICF members.
